1970s Mayeelok Sheer Polka Dot Striped Embroidered Dress with Tie Belt and Elastic Waist size M

Nobody can ever accuse you of being boring when you own this fabulous vintage dress! (The photos can’t do it justice, it’s so pretty in person!)

This fantastic garment was made in Hong Kong during the 1970s by Mayeelok. The fabric is a lightweight, semi-sheer, silk-feel polyester. There is no size indicated on the tag, but it would best fit modern women’s US sizes 8-10. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.

The blocked print on this dress is filled with dazzling colors and patterns! Polka dots, organic shapes, and bright colors pop against a sheer, striped black background. There are also some stunning royal blue embroidered designs around the neckline and back shoulder.

The dress has elastic at the drop waist and on the sleeve cuffs. The v-neck with mandarin-style collar has a tie closure with beads and fringed tassels. The tie belt is attached and looks great tied around the hips or higher up on the natural waist. The billowy fabric and pleating on the skirt are very forgiving and give you lots of styling options as to how fitted/slouchy you’d like to wear it.

Please note that there are a few stained spots on the belt, but they are barely noticeable when it’s being worn (see close-up photos). Overall, this garment is in very good vintage condition and shows hardly any signs of wear. There are no pulls, piling, rips or snags. It is clean and ready to wear, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
