Take your DIY costume to the next level with this fabulous vintage set! It could be used to portray a Scottish bagpipe player, one of the Lost Boys from "Hook", Braveheart, or could even be a good piece for a Theater production!
This set was hand made during the 1960s from a cotton/poly blend. One size fits most. The set consists of five pieces: draping robe, belt, hat, ankle cuffs, and one elastic strap for the upper calf.
The scarf or draping robe can be worn in several different ways, depending on the look you would like to portray. The 1.5 inch wide belt can be used along with kilt pins to keep the robe/scarf in place. The scarf measures 10 inches wide, by 56 inches long, and has red yarn fringe decorating the edges.
The slouchy plaid hat has a red yarn pom-pom on the top. The non-elastic band of the hat measures 22 inches around and could be worn fitted, or can easily be pinned to your hair. The interior of the hat has the name of the original owner inside, her name was Elaine.
Both the ankle cuffs and leg strap are elastic and still retain their stretch. This costume shows minimal signs of aging. There are no holes, stains, or odors. This garments was stored in a smoke-free environment and is in very good vintage condition.
