This necklace was made during the 1980s and is constructed from gold-tone high quality costume jewelry metals and painted enamel.
The butterfly pendant is the star of this necklace! The glittery green and navy blue enamel wings are outlined with gold to create a stained glass look. The symmetrical design of the wings is pleasing to look at and gives off a very art nouveau vibe.
The wings are separated by the gold body of the butterfly. The head and segments have great texture and contrast nicely against the wings. The back side of the pendant is gold in color and has a nice striated texture for added visual interest. The pendant measures 1.25 inches tall, by 1.75 inches wide.
The gold braid chain connects to the top of each wing and closes with a C clasp. The total length of the necklace measures 23 inches long.
There are no scratches or tarnishing. This piece is in excellent vintage condition and was stored in a smoke-free environment. This necklace would be a great accessory for every day life, or would make a fantastic gift for the butterfly lover in your life!
