The brooch was made during the 1970s by AJC. It is constructed from high quality costume metals and painted enamel. The brooch measures 3 inches long, by 2.25 inches wide.
The gold plated metal has a brushed look throughout the majority of the brooch. Shinier gold areas are found in the necktie and eyes. There is fantastic texturing on this piece, especially within the hair and face of the clown.
"Cut-out" pierced sections of the eyes, mouth and neck create dimention and look really cool against a contrasting color. The red enamel makeup of the clown adds extra visual interest, making this a very striking piece to look at!
The spring loop clasp works nicely and there is very little (if any at all) scratching visible to the naked eye. This item is in excellent vintage condition and was stored in a smoke-free environment.
