Add a touch of timeless style to your next look with this fabulous vintage purse!
This Alumesh purse was made in the USA during the 1940s by Whiting Davis. It is constructed primarily from celluloid and metal, with a silk/rayon lining.
The exterior of the purse is an off-white ivory color. The metal mesh feels smooth to the touch and provides flexibility in the bag. The frame, closure, and strap are made of celluloid plastic and give the purse a very stylish art deco vibe!
The body of the bag measures 6 inches tall, by 10 inches wide. The sturdy celluloid chain strap hangs approximately 6 inches. The purse is large enough to fit the average smart phone and all of the other daily essentials. The bag opens clamshell style, about 7 inches, to reveal a clean, navy colored silk/rayon lining. There is an inside pocket perfect for cards or cash.
This delightful accessory shows very little sign of wear. There are some areas on the mesh where the enamel paint has rubbed off, mostly around the edges of the purse, but it is not very noticeable. Over all this item is in very good vintage condition. There are no rips or missing links, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
