1970s Metallic Foil Boho Flower Art in Black and Gold Wooden Frame

This framed foil art was made by hand during the early 1970s. The artwork comes inside a wooden frame, behind glass. Please excuse my reflection in the glass!

The foil art depicts swirly plant life, with kind of a psychedelic tattoo-art vibe. The foil has a metallic sheen to it and the array of colors includes orange, yellow, red, black, teal, and green. The colors really pop against the background to create this striking little wall hanging.

The frame measures 9.5 inches tall, by 8 inches wide. The frame is made of wood that has been painted gold and black. There is even a little brass loop on the top of the frame so it is super easy to hang on the wall, and it gives it that little extra vintage charm.

This piece does show its age a little. There are some scuffs and scratches on the frame. The hand crafted backing of the frame isn’t quite big enough to cover the opening, so the artwork peeks out from the back a bit. This is not noticeable at all when the piece is hanging on the wall. These little quirks add to the character of the artwork. Over all this piece is in good, usable vintage condition. It was stored in a smoke-free environment and has a lot of life left in it!
