This gorgeous vintage necklace and earrings set would make a wonderful gift!
This set of sterling silver floating opals was made during the early 1960s by Milano. The set comes in its original box and even has the paperwork included!
The trademarked “Floating Opal” design was first created during the 1920s, but reached its peak popularity during the 1950s and 1960s.
The floating opal charms on the earrings are made up of small chips of genuine opal that are encased within liquid-filled blown glass. The colorful chips float around inside creating a mesmerizing snow globe effect, and are truly “Alive with the fire of life.”.
The charms are set into sterling silver settings that resemble flower buds with art deco inspired design elements.
The earrings measure just over an inch long and have screw-on backings. The necklace pendant rests on an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
The box measures 6.25 x 3.25 and has a very pretty metallic mid-century floral design on the top.
This set is in perfect vintage condition, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
