1930s Bronze Dance Costume Tutu with Rhinestones size XXS

Step into the spotlight in this stunning vintage dance costume!

This beautiful copper ballerina costume was made by hand during the 1930s/1940s. It is constructed primarily from a non-stretch metallic fabric, tulle, embroidered appliques, and sparkling rhinestones. There is no size indicated, but it would best fit a modern size XXS (model is a XS and it was too tight around the ribs to close). Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.

There is an incredible amount of detail in the design of the bodice on this extraordinary piece! Rhinestones, feathers, and asymmetrical embroidered appliques adorn the bodice and the waist peplum. The bodice has boning throughout and it closes up the back with a series of hook/eyes. There are built-in bloomers underneath the tutu skirt.

Please note a few areas of wear: There are some missing stones that could easily be replaced. There is a small stain at the top front center of the tutut (but it’s hardly noticeable). The shoulder straps have lost their elasticity over time. And the peplum could use some slight reshaping as the ends have twisted a bit over the years.
Overall, it is in very good vintage condition for its age! It was stored in a smoke-free environment and would make an excellent costume for a ballet dancer, burlesque dancer, a Halloween costume, or a great piece to add to your personal collection.

Waist- 10.5 inches across.
Hip- 17 inches across.
Length of leotard from top of bust- 23 inches long.
Skirt length- 10 inches long.
