This dress is absolutely stunning in person, the photos don't do it justice!
The dress was hand made in the 1940s. There is no size indicated, but it would best fit modern sizes 6-8. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.
The materials and construction of this garment are very high in quality. The silk fabric is very soft and lightweight. The print is quite colorful and has lots of intricate designs throughout. The neckline and bust are adorned with sewn-on blue, white, and yellow sparkling rhinestones. Constrasting red piping adds another level of visual interest to the neckline and armholes. The waistline is fitted, with pleating at the skirt waist. Add a petticoat for a fuller skirt look!
The dress closes up the left side of the bodice with an 11 inch metal zipper (which works wonderfully considering it's age!). There is also 2 inches of extra seam allowance at the hem, giving you the option to extend the length of the skirt if needed.
This beautiful dress is in excellent vintage condition and could easily transition from daytime to evening with the right accessories, making it a very versatile wardrobe piece!
