This beautiful vintage huipil top is a great statement piece for your wardrobe, or a lovely addition to your collection!
A huipil is a traditional ceremonial garment worn by the indigenous women of Mexico and Central America. They vary in length, they are rectangular in shape, and are decorated with elaborate embroidery, ribbons, and lace trim. Vintage huipils have become extremely collectible over the past decade.
This vintage huipil is handmade of lightweight cotton, and would best fit modern women's sizes 4-6. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.
The most eye catching part of this blouse is the embroidery and trim on the front. Gold, pink, and brown scalloped trim border some beautiful embroidered ribbon. The ribbon is gold and white with Mexican symbolism such as flying eagles, etc.
The contrasting pink collar pops nicely and matches the trim. The shirt closes up the left side waist with a 7 inch metal zipper.
Please note that there are 3 small stains on the front right chest (see close up photos), but they are not very noticeable. Over all this item is in very good vintage condition and would look fantastic paired with your favorite jeans, could make a nice costume, or it might make a lovely piece of framed artwork for your home!
