Vintage Tooled Leather Tribe Chief Folk Art in Black Wooden Frame

$40.00

Shipping to United States: $8.00

This unique piece of folk art is the perfect item to hang in your study!

This one of a kind piece is made of genuine leather and was created in the late 1970s. The artist hand tooled the leather with the image of a Mayan Indian chef and his ornate eagle headdress.

The frame is also hand made. It is made of wood and painted black. There is a glass pane in front that protects the leather art. The frame hangs on the wall with a wire that is fastened to the back side. The backing of the frame is made of cardboard with some vintage advertising.

The frame measures 12.25 inches wide, by 7.5 inches tall. When hung on the wall using the wire, the frame hangs at angle. The frame stands out from the wall approximately 1.5 inches, making this ideal for hanging high up on the wall so it slants down at you and you can see it perfectly without a glare. You could also easily hang it flat against the wall by hanging the frame directly on a nail.

There are a few signs of age such as some chipped paint on the frame, but it adds great vintage character. Over all this item is in good vintage condition and would make nice wall decor for your boho loft, or could also be a great gift!
