This true vintage beauty has stood the test of time in regard to both sustainability and style!
The dress was hand made during the 1940s. There is no size indicated, but it would best fit modern women's sizes 4-6. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.
The lightweight taffeta polka-dot fabric is slightly textured (the dots are raised), and it has a bit of sheen to it. There is little to no stretch in the fabric. Darts at the bust and the fitted waistline create a flattering and feminine silhouette that flares out from the waist into a half-circle skirt.
True to 1940s apparel construction there are no armhole seams, it is just one continuous piece of fabric. The dress buttons up the front bodice with 13 clear plastic buttons that are likely made of lucite or celluloid. All the buttons and button loops are in good condition. The cap sleeves are given a little extra structure with small shoulder pads (which could easily be removed if desired). The original belt loops are still intact and could fit a 1 inch belt of your choice.
This timeless vintage dress is in EXCELLENT vintage condition and was stored in a smoke-free environment. The dress would look fantastic for every day life, a pin-up photo shoot, or even on-screen for film!
