1950s Brass Filigree Box Purse with Lucite Handle and Turnkey Clasp
Bring back a bit of mid-century sophistication with this fabulous vintage box purse!
The purse was created during the 1950s. It is made primarily of brass, with a lucite lid and handle.
The intricate brass filigree is displayed around the entire side edge of the purse, allowing the contents to be seen. The beautiful lucite lid and handle is a pretty reddish-amber color, wich contrasts nicely against the brass. The purse opens/closes with a turnkey style clasp.
The purse measures 4.5 inches tall. The measurement across the top of the oval shaped lid is 5 and 5/8 inches tall, by 7 inches wide.
There is some slight tarnishing on the brass, and some minor scuffing on the lucite lid. Both condition issues are clearly shown in the photos, and could likely be fixed up with a little buff and polish. Over all this piece is in very good vintage condition. The hardware works well, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment. It is a unique accessory and would look great paired with both modern and vintage looks!
