1920s Long Silk Dressing Robe with Black Velvet Embroidered Collar and Cuffs size M

This gorgeous vintage dressing robe has tons of character and is truly stunning in person!

The robe was created by hand during the 1920s. The robe is made of silk and would best fit modern women's US sizes 8-10. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.

The shiny silk fabric is light pink in color, with a slightly darker pink all-over print. The images in the print include Asian inspired buildings, river streams, small deer, birds, and flowers.

The robe is ankle length and is designed to be worn open with no belt. There are two functional side pockets at hip level. The black velvet collar, sleeve cuffs, and pocket flaps contrast nicely against the pink silk. Breathtaking floral embroidery decorates the collar and cuffs. The embroidered flowers are mostly pale pink, with a hint of mint green and metallic threads throughout. Pleating around the collar and pockets add a little extra visual interest and show off the beautiful craftsmanship of this garment.

Please note that there is some light staining throughout the silk lining, as well as on the exterior (mostly on the bottom half of the robe- see photos). The staining on the outside of the robe is light orange and blends in with the print so it is not all that noticeable at first glance. There has also been some amateur repairs done to the side seams, as they were both torn. Please see close up photos of stitching. Again the stitching repair is not super noticeable because it is on the side seam behind the pocket. This garment has seen many years, but she still has a lot of life left in her, and she's got tons of character!

This would be a beautiful costume piece for theater or film, or could make a great addition to a vintage dressing parlor!
