These sweet little bluebird brooches would look absolutely lovely pinned to your favorite cardigan!
This set of 2 brooches was made by “Gerrys” during the 1970s. They are made of high quality costume materials with painted enamel.
The brooches each measure 1 and 1/8 wide, by 1 and 1/8 inches long. The silver-tone metal is nice and shiny with vibrant royal blue enamel painted on. There are lots of little details in the design. The sculpt of the wings shows lots of detail, as well as their little faces with ruby colored eyes and yellow beaks.
The back side of the brooches are unpainted and stamped with the copyrighted mark “Gerrys”. The pins open and close with spring loop clasps. They lie nice and flat against the body and look great worn together or separately. They would make a lovely gift, or could also serve as “something blue” for a wedding!
Please note that a little of the red has rubbed off one of the eyes, but it is hardly noticeable and could easily be fixed with just a touch of red paint. Over all these birds are in very good vintage condition. There is no tarnishing, and they were stored in a smoke-free environment.
