1940s Striped Cotton Nurse Dress with Short Sleeves and Cherry Red Celluloid Buttons size S/M

This beautiful dress evokes that timeless 1940s look!

This dress was made by hand during the 1940s. It is constructed from lightweight cotton fabric. There is no size indicated, but it would best fit modern US women’s sizes 6-8. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.

This beautiful dress is not only a classic style, but it is also very comfortable to wear! The short sleeves and lightweight fabric are ideal for warm weather. The natural fiber fabric does not have stretch, and is slightly sheer. True to the construction of the times, there are no armhole seams. The silhouette is fitted with darts throughout the bust and waist, and flares out from the hip.

The white collar has striped roped trim to add a little extra visual interest to the design. The white collar and functional hip pocket are both made from a textured cotton fabric. The dress slips over the head and closes up the front with three shiny cherry red celluloid buttons.

Please note that there is a slightly yellowed stain on the right side of the white collar. This is not super noticeable from a distance, making this a perfect piece for theater or film. It could also easily be covered up with a brooch to be worn for daily life too!

Over all this garment is in good vintage condition and has a lot of life left in it! There are no rips or piling, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
