1940s French Floral Needlepoint Clamshell Purse with Chain Strap

This delightful handbag was made in France by Walborg during the 1940s. The body of the bag measures 6 inches wide by 5 inches tall, with a chain strap that hangs 5 inches long.
The exquisite needlepoint tapestry shows off a variety of flowers in red, blue, purple, green and white. These colors pop nicely against the black background.
The hardware is an antiqued bronze color with decorative filigree designs embossed throughout. The purse opens “clamshell style” with two onyx celluloid sphere toggles. The bag opens to reveal a peach silk lining that is in very good condition.
The bag is large enough to fit an iphone 6 with a slim case, as well as the rest of your evening essentials such as credit cards and lipstick. It would be perfect for a fancy event, date night, or a wedding!
There are little signs of wear on this lovely purse, it is very good condition and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
