This gorgeous vintage brooch is sure to be a conversation starter!
This brooch was made during the 1960s. It is constructed from high quality costume materials.
There are so many intricate details on this brooch, you will want to keep staring at it! The general shape consists of two crossed skeleton keys with a crested symbol in the center. Beautiful royal-looking filigree decorates the entire design, while an array of colorful rhinestones sparkle throughout. The rhinestones are red, pink, mint, pink, blue, orange, teal, and yellow. A few of the stones have been replaced over the years, but it is not very noticeable.
The brooch measures 2 and 1/2 inches wide, by 1 and 5/8 inches long. The back side has a simple spring loop clasp, and the brooch lies nice and flat against the body when pinned to clothing. This piece would look fantastic pinned to a velvet blazer, or could also be used as part of a costume for theater or film!
Please note that there are some areas where the gold tone finish has rubbed off, which gives it a nice patina and adds to the vintage charm. Over all this brooch is in good vintage condition. It was stored in a smoke-free environment and has a lot of life left in it!
