Early 1900s Ruby Rhinestone Peacock 3-Prong Celluloid Mantilla Hair Comb
Add a touch of elegance to your updo with this beautiful antique hair comb!
This piece was made during the early 1900s. It is constructed from celluloid plastic and rhinestones.
The shape of this comb is timeless. The repeating rounded shaped of the fanned peacock handle epitomize the transition from Edwardian style to early art deco. Each scalloped segment of the fan is adorned with a sparkling ruby red rhinestones that really shine in person- the photos just can’t do them justice!
The comb measures 4 and 1/2 inches long, by 2 and 1/8 inches wide. The celluloid plastic has tortoise shell coloring, and the 3 prongs of the comb are in great condition.
This hair accessory would be perfect for a dressy occasion, or could even be used as part of a costume for a period film or theater production!
There are some minor signs of age that can be seen in the close-up photos, but over all this antique item is in very good condition. All of the stones are in place and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
