Evoke the charm of a 1940s Summer in this beautiful vintage dress!
This piece was made during the 1980s by Karin Stevens for Steven Stroller. It is made of a lightweight, non-stretch cotton fabric. The tag is marked as a vintage size 6, but it would best fit modern women’s US sizes 4-6. Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.
The lovely drape gives a breezy, feminine feel to this floral dress. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and slightly sheer. The floral print includes an array of large pastel-hued flowers in yellow, teal, pink, and green.
The silhouette of this dress has a very 1940s vibe. It is fitted at the natural waist and hip, with a flouncy bodice. The garment zips up at the back skirt with a 4 inch zipper and hook/eye closure. The bodice closes up the back with 5 pearly white plastic buttons.
Both the skirt and the sleeves have overlapping construction design details that resemble an opening tulip. This dress would make a lovely ensemble for a garden party or summer wedding!
Please note that the snap at the back neck is missing the male half. The dress could be worn as-is, or replacing the snap would be an easy DIY fix. There is some slight pilling around the side/underarm area, but it is hardly noticeable in person. Over all this garment is in good vintage condition. There are no stains or holes, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
