1940s Cotton Blue Floral Short Sleeve Day dress with Rope Trimmed Collar size S/M

This beautiful vintage dress is perfect for a picnic in the park!

This dress was made by hand during the 1940s. It is made of breathable lightweight cotton. There is no size indicated, but it would best fit modern women’s US sizes 6-8 (shown in pictures on a size 4 mannequin). Please see measurements below to guarantee fit.

The pretty floral print on this dress is ideal for warm weather seasons. Blue roses and grey leaves against a white background make up the all-over print on this garment. Dark blue roped trim borders the edges of the peter pan collar to create a nice contrast. The fabric is slightly sheer and may require a slip to be worn underneath.

True to the times, this dress has no armhole seams, and it closes up the left side with a row of 3 plastic buttons. The silhouette is fitted throughout the bodice, and flares out from the waist into a half circle skirt. There are darts at the waist, functional side hip pockets, and small fabric belt loops that will fit a half inch belt, but could easily be covered up with a wider belt.

Please note that there are 3 tiny holes in the fabric at the lower back waist but they are not very noticeable (please see close-up photos). The grey leaves have faded a bit with time throughout the dress, but it blends in with the pattern and is not very noticeable. Over all this dress is in good vintage condition and still has a lot of life left in it! There are no stains, and it was stored in a smoke-free environment.
