1950s Basket Purse with Brown Leather Straps and Brass Turnkey Clasp

This purse was made in British Hong Kong during the 1950s. It is constructed primarily from woven laminated reeds and genuine leather, with brass hardware and a vinyl lining.

This handbag has a classic look that is perfectly appropriate for every day life. It is large enough to hold all of the daily purse essentials, and then some! The genuine leather straps hang 5 inches long, and the leather details are nicely stitched and constructed, giving this handbag an upscale feel.

The body of the purse measures 11 inches wide, by 8 inches tall, and 4 inches deep. The turnkey clasp opens the bag to reveal a clean cream-colored lining with 2 interior pockets. The exterior woven reeds are laminated to protect them from the elements, and little brass feet on the bottom enable the purse to stand up nicely on its own.

Please note that there are two areas on the upper corners of the purse that have small brown marks on them (see close up photos). Over all this item is in great vintage condition and has a lot of life left in it. The leather is in very good shape and the purse was stored in a smoke-free environment.
