1950s Magenta Pheasant Feather Pillbox Hat WITH HAT BOX

This hat was Union Made in the USA during the late 1950s by “Brentshire”. It is constructed from felt, feathers, and delicate mesh nylon netting. There is no size indicated, please see measurements below to guarantee fit.

The color palette of this pillbox is absolutely gorgeous. Pheasant feathers, and feathers of magenta, light pink, and black are arranged in an asymmetrical design that is very pleasing to the eye. The delicate netting overlay keeps the feathers in place and adds a sophisticated touch. There is even a stretch string inside that could be worn under the chin if desired, or just tucked under the hat and used to hang it on the wall when not being worn.

The circumference of the inner band measures 21.5 inches around. The hat measures 8 inches across the top, with a rise of approximately 3.25 inches.

This hat comes with a box, it’s not the original, but the hat fits inside nicely and it is in very good shape. The box measures 10 x 10 inches, and is 6 inches tall. It says “Belvedere” on the top of the lid in gold lettering and there is a black and gold rope to keep the lid in place.

Please note that the hat has a few ruffled feathers in front (see photos) but they are not very noticeable, and could likely be spruced up with a bit of TLC. Overall, both this hat and the box are in good vintage condition, and they were stored in a smoke-free environment.
